Enameled Steel Trays
Make a wash-out tray for Solarplates! Attach a piece of magnetic vinyl to the flat-bottomed tray with water-proof tape (indoor/outdoor carpet tape works well), place a Solarplate on it and scrub away without having to hold the Solarplate steady with your hands.
The trays can be used as a palette for mixing ink or paint. The porcelain coated surface cleans easily and thoroughly, and resists staining better than plastic. Also useful for soaking small pieces of paper before printing. Or use the trays for marbling paper and for suminagashi (the Japanese form of marbling).
The enameled steel tray is 13" x 17" from edge to edge and the flat bottom has a useful working area of 11.5" x 15".
The porcelain on the lip may be slightly chipped; this is unavoidable in the manufacturing process. Simply touch up with nail polish to prevent rust.
Even a small sink can be used to wash out Solarplates using an Enameled Steel Tray.
