Enameled Steel Trays
Make a wash-out tray for Solarplates! Attach a piece of magnetic vinyl to the bottom of the tray with water-proof tape (indoor/outdoor carpet tape works well), place the exposed Solarplate on it and scrub away without having to hold onto the Solarplate with your hands.
The trays can also be used as a palette for mixing ink or paint. The porcelain coated surface cleans easily and thoroughly, and resists staining better than plastic. Also useful for soaking small pieces of paper before printing. Or use the trays for marbling paper and for suminagashi (the Japanese form of marbling).
The enameled steel tray is 13" x 17" from edge to edge and the flat bottom has a useful working area of 9" x 13". This flat area is raised slightly so water will pool around the outer edges of the tray.
The porcelain on the lip may be slightly chipped; this is unavoidable in the manufacturing process. Simply touch up with nail polish to prevent rust.
Even a small sink can be used to wash out Solarplates using an Enameled Steel Tray.
